Culture Programme 2007-2013
The EU?s Culture programme (2007-2013) has a budget of ?400 million for projects and initiatives to celebrate Europe?s cultural diversity and enhance our shared cultural heritage through the development of cross-border co-operation between cultural operators and institutions.
The Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme
?Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme? is a SME support program which is developed within the framework of Lisbon Strategy by European Commission. CIP covers the period of 2007-2013 combines some previous programs such as Management and Entrepreneurship Annual Program, Life Environmental Program, and some other support programs such as e-Ten, e-Content and Modinis under the same framework. Among the main goals of this program are to give financial support for the activities facilitating competition power, to have access to the financial sources of institutions, to provide commercial support services. The overall budget of this prgram is 3.6 billion Euro and it comprises of three components. The main objectives of the components of the program are;
Community Action in the field of Public Health
The programme aims to protect and improve public health whilst complementing related national policies. It runs from January 1 2003 to 31 December 2008, with three main objectives; health information, rapid reaction to health threats and health promotion through addressing health determinants. In this approach, particular attention is paid to the creation of links with other Community programmes and actions.
Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013
The new Life Long Learning Programme supports learning opportunities from childhood to old age in every single life situation.
As regards the four sectoral programmes, quantified targets have been set in order to ensure a significant, identifiable and measurable impact for the programme. These targets are as follows:
- For Comenius: To involve at least three million pupils in joint educational activities, over the period of the programme;
- For Erasmus: To contribute to the achievement by 2012 of three million individual participants in student mobility under the present programme and its predecessors;
- For Leonardo da Vinci: To increase placements in enterprises to 80,000 per year by the end of the programme;
- For Grundtvig: To support the mobility of 7,000 individuals involved in adult education per year, by 2013.
Jean Monnet Programme:
It focuses on European integration and support key institutions and associations active in the field. The programme budget will be ? 6,970 million for the total period 2007-2013.
Youth in Action:
The Youth in Action Programme makes an important contribution to the acquisition of competences and is therefore a key instrument in providing young people with opportunities for non-formal and informal learning with a European dimension. The Youth in Action Programme is a programme for all. It encourages the involvement of young people with fewer opportunities and addresses young people aged between 13 and 30.
